I know, I know, I've been procrastinating on my blog and I'm sorry. But I'm here now! And I'm actually going to post my first actual blog. It's a start right? Well I plan on posting at least one blog post a week. So what is my first blog post you may be wondering? Well it's deer season and what better way than to break in your blog by posting a deer chili recipe right? So get your deer meat ready I'll be here when you get back, if you don't have any I suggest you go get some. Or go hunt it yourself, that's the best way.
So deer chili, right. Sorry I got distracted while you were gone. Oh you didn't leave? Well well just blame it on my ADD lol
Ok in all seriousness here is the recipe.
2 lbs ground venison
2 cans of kidney beans drained
2 15 oz cans of black beans drained
3 slightly cooked bacon slices
2 green onions
2 15 oz cans of diced tomatoes
2 medium onions chopped
4 garlic cloves crushed
1 tablespoon of ground cumin
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon salt
pinch of brown sugar
In large skillet saute the onions and bell peppers over medium heat
add the ground venison (deer meat) and brown
add cumin, brown sugar, salt and chili powder in skillet and stir then transfer to crock pot
add remaining ingredients to crock pot and stir all together
cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours
cut up 2 green onions for a garnish and add shredded cheese if desired and enjoy.
please share this recipe if you have tried it or like it. Thanks.
